This session gave tips that you can do and resources that can help you do it. The following were the topics mentioned:

• Welcome Visitors

• Keep Website Current - vtools
• Newsletter – e notice, snail mail at least once a year
• Member benefits – email alias, discounts (products, insurance, financial and medical), programs (career, education, social and training), services (travel and office)
• Encourage Excom attendance
• Membership Development & Retention
• Member Surveys
• Awards & Recognition
• Start volunteers with manageable tasks and get feedback
• Promote program management experience
• Volunteer Recruitment Toolkit
• Mentoring

We ended with a discussion on how we got involved were successful at it. There was some nice sharing on the unique ways members got involved in IEEE and became a volunteer.
